Dreaming while I'm awake

I dream while I'm awake. I dream of happiness, equality, love, and peace. I think about all the times I've felt alone and lost, and then I think of you, and I know we can't be too far apart. That usually calms me.

I know life isn't always easy. I know that we all feel like there has to be more than this. Sometimes I think that I want to run and not stop until I can't run anymore. But I don't know how You would be able to find me if I did that. I want you so much. I want to keep you with me always. Is that ok with you? Can I keep you? I know that the thought seems silly, but what if? What if you and I were to pack our bags and leave? We could travel the world, or we could just hang out in the backyard and watch the sunset.

I've been living in a place between asleep and awake. That is my home. It’s a small space that very few people think to visit. It’s a comfortable place filled with thoughts that go up like fluffy soft clouds and slowly melt away. It's a place where all of the colors blend softly and create a palette of warm, soft hues flecked with faint splotches of rose gold. It's a space where problems, loss, envy, absence, sadness, enemies, hardships, evil, limitations, pain, misery, and enmity doesn’t exist. It’s quite beautiful here.

I usually sit on the tip of the bright crescent moon and have lovely chats with the flickering stars while I swirl my feet around inside of the soft billowy clouds. What do we talk about? Well, you, of course. We talk about how wonderful you are. We talk about how much we care for you and how we hope you realize just how much you are cared for and loved. Mainly I do most of the talking as stars can’t speak, not with words anyway. They talk in short flickers and signals. I think it’s sort of cute the way that they carry on with each other. They never stop talking. You just have to know the language they speak, and you would be amused.

I know it's been a little tough for you lately. Sometimes you are filled with more questions than answers. But you have to know you aren't alone. I have wanted to contact you for a long time, but I wasn't sure that the time was right. But I am pretty sure it is now. If you want to find me, all you have to do is visit me in the space between asleep and awake. That's where I usually am, and that's where I’ll be waiting for you always.
